April 1, 2026Ms. Athina Rikaki from Greece was conferred with the prestigious SIFFCY Lifetime Achievement Award, announced during the 12th Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth (SIFFCY) on 30 January 2026 in New Delhi, India. The festival was hosted by Smile Foundation, India’s leading development organisation, in partnership with the European Union and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The award was received on her behalf by Mr. Vassilis C. Karamitsanis, Secretary General of CIFEJ, who accepted the trophy and certificate from Mr. Jitendra Mishra, Festival Director of SIFFCY and President of CIFEJ (Centre International du Film pour l’Enfance et la Jeunesse), along with Mr. Santanu Mishra, Co-Founder of Smile Foundation, on this special occasion.
The SIFFCY Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to distinguished global professionals in recognition of their extraordinary and enduring contributions to children’s media and the welfare of children, celebrating a lifetime of commitment to meaningful storytelling and a positive impact on young audiences.
